Based around Lorry's songs, Pepperjam started out playing around Hebden Bridge local pubs and clubs as a
three-piece (guitar, cello and percussion), gradually developing and growing into the larger
ensemble you hear on this, their first album, Taxi To Whitby.
The collective past histories of the band members include - Black, The Ukranians, James, Little Chief,
Laurel Aitken & The Pressure Tenants to name a few.
All the arrangements are entirely original and
a collaboration effort of the band, arrived at by jamming and performing, constantly opening the songs
up to fresh ideas and interpretations.
