Distilled Records are thrilled to sign to the label Manchester musician Mano McLaughlin - Distilled Records will release his first solo recordings later this year. So unassuming in both his playing and production that you can't help but love what you hear. His imagery is simple but unexpected, and delivered with irresistible musical phrasing. On hearing the album demo Distilled Records owner gushed "the songs of Mano McLaughlin are the finest being written in the English language today. Anywhere. By anyone and anyhow." Distilled Records Spider Mike King releases The Blood River Sessions Volume 1 on November 26th - the EP was recorded live at Unit 7 Studios in Scotland and a FREE gig to celebrate its release will take place in Spider Mikes native Manchester. Distilled Records LP Urchin by Steve Dowling & The Obliviates is reviewed in this weeks Galloway Gazette! The band played a blinding set at The Creamery last weekend to a very lively crowd! Distilled Records have been busy plotting and planning - trying to get our stuff played on the radio or reviewed in magazines - whilst on the net stumbled over this - the longest LP title EVER!!! By the group Chumbawamba - Distilled Records really like what it has to say about music (the title) so here it is in all its glory for your pleasure -

Distilled Records computer system failed last month (ok, the laptop fell off a table) so we've not had an online update for a while! Lots has been going on! FUNDRAISING CONCERT ? Pakistan Flood Crisis: Fri. 10th September 2010, 8pm - Nathon Jones and the Woodshed Allstars bluegrass band, and friends including Steve Dowling, Al Price & Huey Dowling, are hosting a special fundraising concert in aid of the flood victims in Pakistan. Venue: The Galloway Arms Hotel, Victoria Street, Newton Stewart Entry is minimum £3.00 per person donation. All proceeds to the Pakistan Flood Appeal.
